Does anyone know why Barbara's Florist closed on Frankfort Ave?

She has had the place for sale for quite some time as she was planning her retirement. We've bought a lot of orchids there over the years, we wish her well.

We have bought many orchids from her too. We were there in the Spring and passed by in the Fall and saw where she had closed. It was a surprize.
Brenda was so nice and knowledgeable on plants.

Wow, sorry to hear that. She was the go-to florist for orchids.

Sad loss. She was my favorite florist. I did flower arrangements for 3 yrs for a nice restaurant (and always on a budget) and Barbara's was one of my favorites. I was given total creative freedom, too, so I did a lot of shopping around. I also purchased a ton of flowers from farmers markets and found the prices incredibly competitive. Most of the other florists in town are much more expensive from what I remember. I hate to admit it, but whole foods has an awesome selection with Kroger pricing.

They do have a nice selection, especially around the holidays.

Cindy Sullivan mention on WHAS radio that the business is reopening as Louisville Orchids and that they will be open on Friday and Saturdays. www.louisvilleorchids.com

Glad to see someone bringing orchids back to that location. From the blog that is linked to "Louisville Orchids is on the front porch of the building only."

Passed by on the way home and saw a new sign "Coming Soon: Desserts by Helen". Nary an orchid in sight.

Cindy stopped by recently, it is on the front of her home, not the old location.
