Local sewing machine repair?

by Robin Garr » Fri Sep 09, 2011 7:35 am

Anybody have personal experience? Mary doesn't use hers much, and it's not new, but not her mother's generation, either - a '70s-era Singer - and something went funny about it the other day. She'd just as soon have it fixed by a local craftsman, if reasonable, than get a new one ...

Austin’s is knowledgeable, but can be pricey. You should also look into Sew & Service Center on Ulrich Ave. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and have fair prices. I believe they specialize in Singers. (502)969-9692

I had my machine repaired years ago and while it may have been like 60 bucks or so they told me the basic technology in sewing machines had not changed in like a hundred years and it was always better to get one repaired.
