Kentucky Speedway - Discount Tickets and "NASBus"

by Steve P » Fri Jul 01, 2011 2:53 pm

If anyone is interested...NASCAR comes to the Kentucky Speedway next week with three (night) races. The Camping World truck series on Thu. night, the Nationwide Series on Fri night and finishing with the Sprint Cup series race on Sat. night.

Discount tickets and info are available at the Kentucky Speedway website: http://www.kentuckyspeedway.com/ The discount code is: RTN

GA tix to the Thursday Truck race are only $10 and (good) reserved seats for the Nationwide race on Friday are only $20.

In addition there is a company offering round trip bus transport to and from the Speedway...They leave from 4th Street Live and return there after the race. The cost is $35 RT. Here's the link:

Note: not sure I'd sign the family up for the bus trip...sometimes those folks can get a little outta hand (and it only takes one).

Just kinda an "FYI"...if you've never been to a race, the Truck race on Friday night is a good family outing. $10 bucks a ticket, free parking, the race is only 250 miles, so the kiddies probably wouldn't get bored and the crowd is comparatively small (and well behaved)...Family of four could do it for well under $100 including food and drinks....Probably cheaper than a Bats game. Take ear plugs, those engines get LOUD.

We were joined by about 60'000 other people at the "Truck" race last night...Nice well behaved crowd, excellent improvements to the speedway, traffic wasn't too bad...But my GOD, the concession prices were off the charts. The prices at last years events were typical of most major sporting events but this year WHOA...stand back !!!. Brats for $7 a 16 ounce beer for $8. I was told the outfit that does the concessions has some kind of connection to Churchill...which might explain a lot.
