Sensory-Friendly Movie at Stonybrook on Saturday

by Beth K. » Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:53 pm

A friend posted this on Facebook today:

RAVE Stonybrook Theater had agreed to have a sensory-friendly movie for children with autism this Saturday, July 2nd at 10:05 a.m. The movie will be Cars 2. They will have the volume down, lights dimmed and are free to bring their own snacks (due to allergies). Kids are free to move and enjoy themselves! They ask that you PLEASE pass this along as we need a good turnout in hopes they will see the need and will continue to allow our kids to enjoy going to the movies!

I am SO glad that this is getting so much exposure! It's a fantastic idea and I hope they do more. I know this has been popular around the country. I just wish we would have been able to make this one..though I don't know how long Ben would actually sit.
