Need Carpenter/Handyman ASAP for storm damage

by Steve P » Mon May 02, 2011 5:54 pm

Hey Ho...

Our house was hit by lightening on Tuesday...it blew the (Masonite sided) chimney apart and put a smallish hole in the roof. We're looking at having to reside the chimney, piece in a small OSB patch in the roof sheathing and replace half a dozen shingles (I have the shingles). The rood has a small leak, so I need this work done ASAP. Please drop me a P.M. if you know of anyone DEPENDABLE who can do QUALITY work...Note, we live in the Crestwood area of Oldham County

I'll try to get a recommendation from my neighbor who is a property insurance adjuster this afternoon. I'm not sure if the Louisville side of the river is part of his coverage territory, but he prolly has contacts over there.
If you find a contractor before that let me know.

Had a guy out this morning who says he can get to it later this week. Thanks Bill.

I was in the garage when it hit...it knocked me down, "flash" blinded me for about 5 minutes and made my ears ring for a couple of hours. It toasted two Garage door openers, two TV's, a laptop, the transformer in the HVAC system, etc, etc...Glad it wasn't anything more serious.

Wow! That sounds pretty serious still! Glad you and Becky weren't hurt and it wasn't any worse damage. Hope you can get everything fixed or replaced without too much hassle!

Wow, scary situation, Steve. Material possessions can be replaced, glad you're safe.

I saw this late, so you probably already found your handyman. If not, let me know - I have somebody you can try.
