theater on the river

by Lisa Stephenson » Wed Aug 15, 2007 9:26 pm

Last Saturday night, we saw the musical "Footloose" on the riverfront amphitheater in downtown Jeffersonville. It was free and they will be performing it again this weekend. I highly recommend it! It is a great venue. Great breeze on the river too. Also, you can take coolers, chairs and blankets!
The performers are quite experienced according to their bio's.

Is there an online site for schedules and times?

Lisa,

Sounds great: we may go. But am I missing something?: the only thing I can find about it on the link is their poster for auditions back in March and a list of show dates. No times or further info on what to bring, etc.

According to the flyer from last week, the shows will be at 8:30 on Aug 17, 18, and 19. There is no other website that I can find.

Lisa,

Thanks! We may make it over there this weekend.

Any suggestions on how early to go to get a good spot? (We'll have 3 year old in tow so it always helps to know...)

to get good seats...

by Lisa Stephenson » Fri Aug 17, 2007 4:53 pm

I suggest getting there at least by 8:00 PM. Each level of the amphitheater (no roof) has concrete at the edge. So, place your lawn chairs towards the front of a level so no one sits in front of you and their heads are in your way! We made that mistake. There doesn't seem to be any regulations regarding taking food/drinks. I did not see anyone searching what was carried in. There was a funnel cake stand and we bought water and canned soft drinks from a vendor.

Hope you have a great time!!

Lisa,

Thanks so much: that's exactly what I was looking for. We are hoping to make it on Sunday.
