Old Cinemas location

Now that the old cinemas on Bardstown Rd have been torn down is there anything planned for there?

Unless something has changed recently, it was reported that National Amusements still owns it, and they are hoping that having the cinemas demolished will make the land more attractive to prospective buyers.

I'm curious as to why more cinemas wouldn't do well there. It's far enough south from Baxter and not close to any of the other big complexes. Of course, perhaps the city is already movie screen saturated.

It's my understanding that one of National Amusements' stipulations to sale was that the property could not be used as a cinemaplex.

I would like to see something interesting but since there is a super walmart, target and all that over there it will probably become some corporate mega store.

It was too bad they tore it down...they could have changed them into a conference center of some sort.
