Forumites Receiving Votes

by Steve P » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:34 am

I am loath to vote for ANY candidate running "unopposed" so I always do my civic duty by writing in a candidate of my choice. Forumbyters receiving my write in votes in Oldham county this year were:

Jailer - John Hagan
Magistrate - Steve A.
Coroner - Bob C.
County Clerk - Carla G
12th District Judge - Ed Vemillion
Sheriff - Robin Garr

Does the Sheriff in Oldham County need to venture outside the Watterson?

My dad once decided to do something similar, but he wrote in one of our dogs, Bear Stevenson, to be over Animal Control. The funny part was the next election there was a candidate named Bear Stephenson running for office! We still have one of his signs stashed in the garage...he probably lost b/c so many of his signs were being picked up by our friends!

Hey! I DO go outside the Watterson. You guys have seen me there. It's just that I make fun of myself when I do it. It's sort of like whistling past the graveyard ...

I wrote in myself for Mayor and one of the Commissioner posts for Forest Hills. I think a couple of my neighbors jokingly wrote me in as well; as I received a total of 5 votes

Yeah, they initially announced it as 498, but have since added one more. Still shooting for 500. At least I beat Jerry Mills, the other independent. I'm very thankful for every single vote I got. It just turned out not to be the best time in my life to devote a year of my life to running a campaign. Hopefully, Fischer will do a good job.
