Eagles Concert

Really enjoyed downtown Sat. night. Good weather. Crowds everywhere. The doors opened at 6:30 for the 8:00 concert. Since we hadn't finished exploring the new arena and couldn't know when other people would head downtown, we arrived around 5:30 and parked between Main and Market on a side street. $.50 toward a meter. Walked a few blocks, instead of a parking garage for $10. May not always be able to do that but we like walking downtown anyway.
Crowds everywhere. Waits at restaurants on either side of the arena were 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We thought it would be crazy and had a snack at home but knew we could get a BBC beer. Stood outside and people watched.
The arena and the Eagles were wonderful. The sound was amazing. The simple backshots on the stage were great. Hotel California was a great visual. Woodford on the rocks, $6.75. Had been $4.75 at Freedom Hall. We didn't eat anything there or have too much more to drink. It costs too much to get in there to spend too much money.
Afterwards, headed back to BBC where Brad found an outside table and got loaner Warthog mugs for us. Had nachos, then headed inside to finish the beers. It was getting chilly.
Walking west on Main, there weren't too many people left, but it was after midnight.
Scrimmage, then MMJ, then exhibition games, then into the regular season for men and women's basketball. It so good to have an option before and/or after the game/concert instead of Freedom Hall fare only.
