Lady Gaga and now the WWE?

by TP Lowe » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:36 pm

My goodness, can Louisville hit it any bigger? Too bad they're not at the same time so some big thug could body slam ... well, never mind.

(And Danville gets the Vienna Phil with Dudamel. Thank goodness the Kentucky Center has such good programming.)

You forgot Justin Bieber. While none of them are my thing, they are to a huge number of people and I'm sure tickets will sell well. The problem I'm seeing with all the events being booked at Yum Center is ticket prices. Unless you're in the nose bleeds, you're shelling out over a hundred for a ticket.

At least the My Morning Jacket tickets were relatively reasonable.

I thought it was just me that was left gasping at those prices.

Having lived in NYC for four years, I'm sort of used to seeing them, but not paying them. ;) Of course, we're talking about places like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and Broadway shows here, not, er, the Yum! Fried Chicken Arena. :P

I got my Gaga tix yesterday. We bought the middle of the road ones. I've paid more, and I've paid less for tickets to a concert. It'll be a great show!

I'm left gasping at most of the prices these days. ,,Then again being a geezerly Curmudgeon like I am I can recall paying 12 bucks to see Bruce Springsteen.

Our modus operand these days is to search out little jewels on the entertainment front that don't cost an arm and a leg. We recently saw blues man Jimmy hall and Delbert McClinton for 15 bucks and there are still a number of "small hall" acts we enjoy who usually come in in the $25 dollar range.

If I recall correctly, I seem to recall Lady Lala canceling a bunch of shows this summer due to poor ticket sales.

Kind of true. She and Kanye West cancelled their tour due to poor ticket sells. It was planned right around the Kanye West - Taylor Swift hoopla. Her tour is sadly kicking ass.

I've paid up to $50 to see Def Leppard, and we've paid $90 a ticket a few times to see NIN. They'll charge what they can get for the tickets. Keep in mind, Ticketmaster adds approx $15 per ticket for all their crap fees, so a $35 ticket ends up being about $50.

Yes, they will charge what they can get, but talk about screwing your fans.

I bought 3rd row Nickleback, Buckcherry, and 3 Days Grace tickets for $60, so there is a disconnect somewhere.

The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Hell yeah! Backstage, VIP, all the way.

I'd think about going for free beer and $100.

I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I saw Justin in Cincinatti because I am vying for the #1 stepmom award.

I can tell you that the U.S. Bank Arena was packed and if I was a 13 year girl I would have totally fallen in love.

So his show should bring in a hugh audience, but I will NOT be in this one.
