Are they going to have those 1 dollar beer and dog nights on Thursdays? A bunch of us from work loved that deal. They were my fave nights. No reason to go home after work. Hang at Browning's (drink beer) for a while then head to the ballpark.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Dollar Beer...

by Dan Thomas » Thu Mar 29, 2007 1:16 am

The First dollar beer night is on the first(Good Friday) Friday game before Easter. They are going to have this promotion on every Thursday Night home game again if I'm looking at the schedule correctly. They have dollar hot dogs and Pepsi on Tuesday nights. Tuesday is more of a Family Night. Whereas Thursdays are more of the younger bar going type. They even have live music most of the time...Anyway for us true fans of the game this guy is expected to start here on opening night..May I present the Future of the ProgramImageImage

Jake the Dog Passed

by TanyaD » Fri Mar 30, 2007 9:12 am

Sad news for Bats fans:

From the Courier Journal 3/27/07:

Jake the Diamond Dog suffered a stroke on March 18 and died the
next day. The 14-year-old golden retriever was best known for
performing at Louisville Bats games.

"My new dog has taken over," said owner Jeff Marchal of Harrod,
Ohio, "but it's not Jake. "I thought I was big, I thought I
was tough, but I'll tell you what, it's been a rough road,"
Marchal said.

That is sad, Tanya, but thanks for posting it. Jake was a good old dog, that's for sure. That being said, if you watched closely you would have noticed that there have been at least two and maybe three different "Jakes" in recent years, and I always assumed they were training for either future replacements or to expand the concept.

I remember one sad and funny time when old Jake (whose vision probably wasn't all it used to be) got badly confused when the visiting team wore a combination of dark tops and gray bottoms very similar in contrast to the ump's attire. Jake came out with his basket, got to the first base line, looked around and said, "Aw, the hell with it."

So, I liked Jake as much the next person sitting next to me. But do we have to deal with Myron Noodleman that much more? I wish I had that gig(barely funny and slightly entertaning)

Couldn't agree with you more regarding Myron! I love the Bats but think twice about attending when Myron is there ............ he really spoils it for me. :(

I am not sure anyone cares, but U of L built a new baseball stadium 2 years ago and it ROX. The team is doing fairly well this year, leading the Big East. The best part is that the games are FREE. Just wanted to let ya know.

Much to my disappointment, the schedule says Myron will only be at one game this year! We happen to LOVE Myron! C'mon, it's silly fun just like all the other "entertainers" there!!
Maybe you don't remember Jerry Lewis' Buddy Love.

I'm okay with Myron. I still rememer how hilarious it was the FIRST time he led the groundskeepers around the bases when they drag those scraper thingies around. :D
