Hot Rod Nationals - Do they cruise town ?

by Steve P » Thu Aug 05, 2010 1:50 pm

Just wondering if the hot rodders do any street cruising in conjunction with the Hot Rod Nationals event that is in town. If so is there a good place to watch the cars ?

You'll see 'em all over town, but I don't know of any organized multi-car cruises. Might keep an eye on the parking lot at Olive Garden. ;)

You will see them pretty much everywhere but If you don't want to pay to get in, then drive around the area of the new football stadium parking lot where the registration tent is and you'll see plenty of them. They have been rolling in since Tuesday and the proximity of my workplace to the fairgrounds, I've seen lots of them. I saw a really bitchin' 61 Chevy Impala convertible this afternoon.

Probably a goofy suggestion, but I tend to see the most on the highways coming and leaving town. Seems many like to get the cars out on old country roads. Always see a bunch when I head out to my parents on I-65 south of town.

Steve, I live about a half mile from the Fair and Expo Center on a major road. I'll rent my porch to you. Seems the hot rodders love Denny's.

Chick Inn's parking lot and surrounding parking area was full of hot rods this evening.

I just saw a couple driving down Bardstown Road. You could always post up at one of the Bardstown Rd. pubs/cafes with outdoor seating & watch 'em go by. They're usually going slow due to the traffic.

Check the hotel parking lots. TONS of hot rods at the Lakeview Holiday Inn in Clarksville.

I love it that they are allowing some "newer" cars in this year - great muscle cars around town.
