Goldfinches

by Gayle DeM » Mon Jul 19, 2010 9:57 am

Has anyone else noticed a much smaller number of goldfinches at his/her birdfeeders this summer? They are visitiing and feeding but there are so few of them. In other summers there have easily been as many goldfinches as housefinches, but, in my backyard this is no longer true.

Gayle, Mary has a big row of sunflowers across the back end of our yard, and they draw goldfinches in squadrons every summer. Maybe we're stealing yours? ;)
