Kroger proposes to add gas pumps to Highlands location

by Alan H » Sun Jul 18, 2010 5:09 pm

Will take place of the C.V.S. when there lease is up.
Apparently the median wall that blocks Walgreens parking lot and Krogers ( behind building ) will come down which will allow access to Trevilian Way to promote more traffic flow.
There is a petition circling in the 40205 area to block this because of bottleneck traffic at light on Bardstown and Trevilian Way. Analyst say it will add 350 more vehicles a day to an already busy road.
I shop there weekly, you talk about creating a mess...

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

The Goss Kroger is getting gas pumps too. Something else is going on at the shopping center too. They've torn down the part of the building that housed Movie Gallery and Citibank but left up the facade. Hopefully, a super Kroger is in the works!

Awwright! Finally a use for all those points on our Kroger card! Now get one for Woodlawn Park/St Matthews, and we'll be in hog heaven.

Our son works there - they are expanding the store, no word on super Kroger, but they are already putting in another row of freezers. He did say there will be a "beer cave" (oh, goodie! ) I am hoping for 24 hours there.

I hope you have more luck there than I'm having at the Kroger's on Hubbards. They have been remodeling for 3 months and moving everything more than once. There are items I can no longer find- neither can the manager. It's really maddening. I've stopped going since it really isn't worth the aggrevation. Dirty Kroger's for me I guess.

We're back and forth between those two also, Gary, although I find we're making more use of farmers' markets, Doll's, Burgers, Rainbow Blossom and Lotsa Pasta lately, and reserving Kroger to save costs on stuff like paper towels and cat food. (Actually, Mary discovered that the new Target has cat food for about half what Kroger charges for the gourmet brands.)

I think the expanded St. Matthews Kroger is now bigger than the Yum Arena, by the way ...

I'm loving it, especially the expanded cheese and ethnic sections.

where is this expanded St. Matthews Kroger at? We normally hit the Highlands one, but the ethnic is sparse.

When I first saw the title of this thread I thought "where are they going to put gas pumps...on the roof?" Not sure if clearing out the CVS is really going to handle the traffic it's so crowded over there already. I like that store since they have Boar's Head and most of the other stuff we like, but we find ourselves running to several small local places and Whole Paycheck on a regular basis for other staples. Worse traffic may be too much of a hassle to bother with that store.

Madeline, it's the huge Kroger in a shopping center on Hubbards Lane just south of Westport Road, a couple of blocks north of Shelbyville Road - it's across Hubbards from the also recently expanded Target.

I'm with you Robin, Target and Kroger for staples. My MIL used to buy some gourmet dog food at wally world, cheapest she could find she told me. The Feeder's Supply at Shelbyville Road Plaza has it cheaper by .50 per can. Surprised me.
