Good electrician, reliable and affordable?

We've got a closet light fixture acting scary and weird: Both swirly bulbs and regular incandescents plugged into it have suddenly started into a sine-curve pattern of over-bright, dim, over-bright, dim, eeeeek turn it OFF!

I found this 18-month-old thread and have noted the reccos in it:

But would also value current advice, with particular attention to someone who's good at working on older houses in the city with their wacky mix of old and renovated and new.

We have used Bill Mudd Electric, both at our previous very old house and our current rather newer house, and have been quite satisfied. Wish I could recommend someone more Crescent Hill-centric - BME is in Crestwood. But they have some fancy in-van electronics that allow them to find their way to the smaller-total zip codes!

Bringing this back up to the top just in case anyone has great new recommendations (not that these aren't fine). We've had a four-lamp kitchen track lighting fixture suddenly go dark, which is odd considering that other stuff still works on the same breaker circuit it's on.

We've used Dr. Electric a few times for various projects in our Highlands home. He's a licensed Master Electrician and a Licensed Electrical Contractor with over 20 years of experience. He was able to come out quickly and his prices were very reasonable. The only issue we had was that on his last job for us, he left one of his large masonry bits. We called him to let him know we had it and even left it outside in case he wanted to swing by and pick it up when we weren't home, but he never came back for it. Shrug.
