Good kennel recommendation?

by Alanna H » Tue Jul 03, 2007 5:25 pm

Needing to board my St. Bernard/Pyrenees mix from July 13-16. Problem is I don't have a car to transport him...I saw an ad for Waggin Tail Kennels on Lexington, not far from where I live on Grinstead, and they offered pickup and drop off which would be wonderful. Has anybody ever used them? If so please let me know how it went. I've only had to kennel him once before and I was very UNhappy with where I took him.

I am not sure about the same ownership but that Waggin Tails has been there for at least 30+ years. I have never heard anything bad about the place.

Maybe a ride over to check them out is in order. 8)

Pet suites in Middletown, I be dropping the pooch off there this weekend.

Clean, clean, clean, and friendly. Did I mention Clean?

We have boarded our dogs several times at the Humane Society out by the Kroger warehouse. The even have "resort" accomidations and several options like extra walks and the staff seem very nice even though some are volenteers.

Yes, Dan,
Your right, the Humane Society is also a good recommendation.

Thanks

After visiting many kennels I settled on the one run by the Human Society off the Gene Snyder Freeway. My dog who had never been kenneled came home a happy and tired dog. I do recommend them.

We have used Waggin Tails for the past 5 years now when we go on vacation from 2 days to 14 - and we have always been very happy with their services. Abbey gets very excited when she sees the building. I take that as a good sign.

We've used both Waggin Tail when we had a dog, (several years ago) and more recently the Humane Society pet resort for our kitten. I really encourage you to use either of the two Humane Society facilities. They are wonderful facilities, well equipped and well run, very clean and your fees help to support homeless animals.

Thanks for all the replies. I do have Lincoln set up for Waggin' Tails this weekend, I expect all to go well.
I used one of the Humane Society's kennels last year and wanted to cry because it was so bad. This was the Fern Creek facility, not the east east end one. I've heard lots of good things about the east end kennel though.

We board at the Fern Creek place that used to be Minirosa and is run by the Humane society, has anyone been back where the runs and kennels are ? The last couple of times we boarded our Jack there she came back with Kennel cough although she's had the Bordatella vaccine. Anyone have any comments ? The people there have always been great to deal with and you can tell they love animals.
