Thanks, Robin. I was disappointed by one thing though . . . I wanted to sing "Send the Light", "Awesome Power and "Power in the Blood", but the preacher stuck with the songs he'd already picked for the service. :-( Didn't want to throw the pianist for a loop (she hates that!).

We had plenty of juice to run several fans, a few lights, the laptop, projector and PA system. The music was all acoustic. Only problem we had was that somebody had dumped a cat in the area and it kept coming inside the church because all the doors were open. One of our members took it to her barn a couple of miles away and put it there with her other barn cats. Cute little cat; it's found a good home. I was worried we wouldn't be able to find it and then it would get locked up in the church for a week. That would have been awful!

I left the apartment this morning with no power, I come back home from having dinner with my family out in Copperfield to find the entire block lit up. Now I get to give my fridge a nice cleaning before I haul my stuff in from the fridge at work.

Louisville Fire's last firehouse without power, E11 & T7 at Winter & Rubel, just got power back on. I've worked 120 hours out of 168 for the week in the Fire Alarm Office and I am pooped. My family at home are still without power but we are also well aware at how lucky we are compared to so many others in Texas.

Please, those of you that still do not have power make sure that all your electrical hazards are off: stove, coffee pots, hair curlers, hair dryers and the like. When your power does finally return you may not be home.

I'm thankful for the linemen and women who have left home and are here to get us put back together. They have a dangerous job and would appreciate a sincere thank you if you have a chance to talk to one.

If you even suspect you have an electrical hazard don't hesitate to call 911 and ask for the Fire Department to check it whether inside or out. Be safe and help your neighbors out.

Ed, my apartment is just around the corner from that firehouse. Thank you all so much for your work getting everyone back up and running.

Ed, thank you and your fellow firefighters for your work in keeping us safe, and thank you for reminding us how lucky we are even in the dark.

We finally got power back at 6 pm on Friday. I haven't been online much, as much of the weekend was spent cleaning out (as in scrubbing from top to bottom) fridge and freezers, cleaning our yard, cleaning the house (since we can finally see), and last but not least, watching tv and playing Rock Band 2. It was lovely to get back into our regular routine. We went to Kroger yesterday to replace some of our food, and, apparently, our entire neighborhood did, as well!

Ed,
Thanks for all the hard work! Thanks to all the LFD crews, who helped our Public Works crews open roads!
