Robert, here's a question:

What's your opinion on the loophole that allows corporations to have their operations here in the states but have their official address offshore specifically for the purpose of evading federal taxes?

About 4-5 years ago, Bush and the congress examined the issue and specifically decided not to close that loophole.

Do you agree with that decision?

[I'd kind of prefer to attend to the actual issue rather than our own or each others' perceived shortcomings, if that's okay with you.]

I was there. I was protesting, and I have a job.

Food? EAT your words, Robert.

See you all just proved my point....Democrats vs Republican...that is all it is.....Thats all it boils down to.....I have been a registered independant since 1973. You think the counrty is in trouble now....what till our next president gets in..most likely Clinton 2...then the trouble really begins...Kind of like the Library Tax if you voted yes you are right and if you voted no you are wrong....problem is that the wrong won by over 2 to 1...wrong by your standards only...right by everyone else...

Okay. Hm. Can you say why? I mean, seriously, how is that decision different from Clinton's push for NAFTA?

8 more years of Clinton? You mean eight more of the most prosperous and peaceful time this country has ever know. Yeah, twist my arm and I'll take eight more years of that.

Hey, while we're on the subject of food and water, here's another totally serious question for you, Robert:

Do you agree with Bush that "enhanced interrogation techniques" such as waterboarding are perfectly appropriate under certain circumstances?

I'm waiting for the apology, Robert.

I have a job. I own a business, and I own a home. I pay taxes. I do all those respectable things that you purport to value, and yet I'm personally offended by six solid years of assault on the Constitution, and as a result, I take to the street and I join the protest.

What part of this does not fit with being an American, Robert?

Please, tell me.

Okay, then, a follow-up, when you're back.... Are "enhanced interrogation techniques" such as waterboarding not "torture"? Or do you consider torture itself appropriate under certain circumstances?
