So if an establishment or a person is against gay marriage, does that mean they're anti gay? Just curious. . .

Of course it does. Otherwise they would have no reason to care about something that is absolutely none of their business.

I do believe we have set a record :!: We have now gone 12 pages in there has been no mention of pizza or beer :!: Chains were mentioned but we avoided 2 of the 3 topics threads normally end up talking about.

Stephen, you are probably right in that many Libertarians would say that the government should stay out of the peoples business. However, I wouldn't say I am anti gay but I am definitely not pro gay marriage (as are the majority of Americans).

Mark, you are wrong about beer not being mentioned, see the previous page.

You can list any emoticon you like, however, my views are more in line with the majority than yours. Gay marriage is not natural, nor is a gay couple raising a child. That's my opinion, something we're all entitled to have.

"I just don't want them to have the same rights I do."

Thank God the majority is swiftly changing their tune. Amazing how far the majority has come in just a decade on that particular issue. Not all that long ago, people used to think it wasn't "natural" for folks of different races to get married. Thank God the majority progressed and eventually, people could no longer use the excuse that the majority agreed with them on that one.

Actually, that's WRONG. The anti's have dropped well below 50 percent.

For First Time, Majority of Americans Favor Legal Gay Marriage
Republicans and older Americans remain opposed
by Frank Newport

PRINCETON, NJ -- For the first time in Gallup's tracking of the issue, a majority of Americans (53%) believe same-sex marriage should be recognized by the law as valid, with the same rights as traditional marriages. The increase since last year came exclusively among political independents and Democrats. Republicans' views did not change.

These results are based on Gallup's May 5-8 Values and Beliefs poll, which has tracked attitudes toward legalizing same-sex marriage each year since 2004, adding to Gallup's initial polling on the topic in 1996 and 1999.

Thank you. I thought that was the case, but I couldn't remember which poll I had seen that in, and I didn't want to post something as fact without citation.

Marriage is not "natural." There's absolutely nothing natural about it. It's definitely a socialized development. As such, the parameters defining it constantly evolve even if the evolution is ever ever so slow. You're now quickly moving into the minority on this issue, and I couldn't be happier about that.

Funny how way back in this thread, you wanted everyone to post logical arguments. But now we've reached the one argument where there isn't a "logical" argument on which to stand. You can hide behind your opinion, but that's paramount to a five-year-old taking his ball and going home when he/she does not get his/her way.

Finally, who cares what the majority thinks. Do you find comfort in being among the masses? Strength in numbers? You can have all the numbers you want, that doesn't change you from being ... wrong. (God I wanted to use another word). Your opinion be damned.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
