Early in his career, Rush admitted to it being "schtick", that he was an entertainer. IMO, he got so successfull at it, he started beleiving his own own stuff. It amazes me how he can contradict himself and then anyone who calls him on it disturbed or a liar. I listen occasionally, if only to find out what BS he is passing out today.

Rush Limbaugh is a self-described "entertainer"...don't take him too seriously.

I found it kinda cool, in a "lets ALL hang Rush out to dry" kinda way that both former President Bush and former President Clinton are actively participating in fund raising efforts and the overall support of American disaster relief efforts.

The Hatian disaster is not a time for partisan American politics...it's too bad Rush appears to be the only one who doesn't understand this.

I find it interesting to watch radio figures (in particular) who start off as "zoo" announcers (Beck a good example) that turn into political pundits when they realize how much money there is to attract the hard-core followers of that party. Just like Beck/Limbaugh/etc., Air America attempted to capture the liberal dollar on the other side, and there apparently just aren't enough liberal radio listeners to make a go of it. I think nearly all of them are just chasing the money. Beck used to be quite funny (as did Rush years ago) but now is just painful.

Oh, the country managed to survive Reagan, we survived Bush and I suspect we'll survive Obama...actually, I wouldn't compare Reagan w/Limbaugh...yes, Reagan had an acting career, but while an actor he became very active in running SAG (when he was still a New Deal Democrat), and later served two terms as Governor of California...on the other hand, Limbaugh (except for a brief stint working for the KC Royals) spent his adult career in radio...he was once asked why he didn't run for office, and he replied that he would feel uncomfortable always asking people for campaign funds...of course, he doesn't have any problem soliciting people to buy his EIB kitsch...no, I think there's a difference between the two.
