There is one out Taylorsville Rd., before you hit Hurstbourne.
Another behind the old Bashford Manor Mall.

Happy Shopping!

Yeah, but those are hard to get to from Crescent Hill. There are parks in the way! :D

Does anyone know how they stand on grocery pricing compared to Wal-Mart and Kroger? I'm guessing somewhere in the middle. I'm hoping I never have to enter the Wal-Mart neighborhood market again after Oct.

Do Super Target's carry booze?

they're going to put in a Super Target there

I think the new Target will just be a regular Target, not a Super Target. It will be more like the Springhurst Target. They will be adding a Starbucks and I believe expanding their groceries, but not a grocery store section.

I talked with one of the managers there and he confirmed that it is not going to be a Super Target but they will carry some produce and meat. They are adding approximately 5000 more square feet and all of their employees are being placed at other Targets until the new/old Hubbards reopens. I think their prices on groceries are really good---and there are certain things that I always get there b/c it is cheaper--nutrigrain bars, bread, some such like that. I just hope that they are able to place their Hubbards Lane employees in other Targets and that no one loses their job over this closing.

Until they start having their "Super" Targets open 24 hours they should not be allowed to designate them as such.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

I used to live in Crescent Hill and now live downtown and I really like the Target in Clarksville. It has a pretty good sized grocery section (nothing fresh, though) and, best of all, ALCOHOL!!! Hehehehehehe, I LOVE it! I can get my Target goodies and my wine (or booze). Now, if they just open a bar so I can sip my wine while shopping........

I have to say that Target has some of the best boxed wine. I bought some when I was in AZ and smuggled it home in my luggage.

annemarie m wrote:bill due tell more. are they putting a new target in the old biggs beside walmarts. walmart does own that whole property i thought. wouldn't that be a conflict of interest.? i'm trying to picture this all in my head. is there land other than where walmart sits on now?

From what I understand, and if someone knows better, please chime in, Hagen is developer of the property, and I think Walmart leases (grey area) from them. Target would operate under and similar deal.

Target is going to be built where they've torn down the old "mall" area of Middletown Station. They are hoping to have it open by Christmas.

Should make for some interesting traffic snarls over the holidays.

Are there any other Super Targets in town? I don't think I have been to one. I did go to a very large one in Cherry Hill, NJ not too long ago but was looking for something specific.

The nearest Super Targets are in Indianapolis. According to Target's website, there are 5 in the Indy-metro area.

There was some press blurb 3 or 4 months ago about the Westport Target closing, guess i was the only one who saw it. :?

Mary saw it, and she's been sniffling about it ever since. Bear in mind, if it was in the CJ, that fewer and fewer people are reading that thing. I don't know why Mary still does ...

I am actually glad that this Target will be closed for a while. Maybe I'll actually stick to my "no buying" plan for a change. I usually make it through January, but then in February I get sucked back in. I live just one mile from Target, so it is easy for me to pop in whenever I need something, but it usually turns into several somethings instead. Although their prices are higher, and I really hate it, this will force me to just get my necessities from Kroger, where I don't have to feel the lure of the purse or earring sections!
That being said, I do love Target. I think the Bashford Manor Target is the best in town, followed by the Hurstbourne/Stonybrook Target. I do not like the Springhurst Target at all.
I guess I should be glad they're doing the Target construction at the same time they're doing the rest of the Westport Road construction; maybe they'll get it all out of the way at once. It's getting really dangerous to drive around here! My best friend is a bus driver and he said he had to drive the bus through my neighborhood (I would have liked to see that) the other day because he couldn't get past the construction traffic.
