A friend of mine years ago built some subwoofer enclosures for a PA system, and installed lexan panels in the front of the cabinets.

He needed the lexan an extra thick 3/8" (musuem-like) to withstand the low frequency vibrations for the speakers. I think he got them through special ordered at a hardware store (it may have even been Lowe's) They were 11"x8.5"and i believe they were $40 for two of them.

The regular thickness stuff can't be too expensive; that is depending on the dimensions you need.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

As far as weather-proofing and breakage protection - the standard thickness would be plenty.

I wanted to thank you all for your input. I ended up calling Kentucky Mirror and Glass (the place beside the Slugger Museum) and they recommended someone to do the installation. So I got my Lexan over the transom at last. Here's a picture of the haapy window!
