I rarely go to the doc, but I'll put in a plug for mine: Dr. Stephen Roszell. He is very common sense oriented and down to earth. He doesn't like to over-prescribe anti-biotics, and is willing to think things through rather than jump to conclusions.

Also, he's conveniently located at the West entrance to Mid City Mall in the Highlands. (across from City Cafe). He just opened his practice there a year ago, and it is a nice modern facility. He obviously put some thought into the design. He was part of Deer Park family practice before he went off on his own. Highly recommended...

p.s. I think (not 100% sure) that most docs will give you a free consultation if you tell them you're trying to determine a primary care physician (think I'm remembering my med lingo correctly).

p.p.s. Wish we had single payer in the US. And most docs do too. I know that many many people in the restaurant biz are uninsured. What do the insurance companies really do other than shuffle paper and take a profit? Do we really need that? Don't want to make it an issue here, but also don't want to stay silent. PM me if you want to chat on that topic...Cheers

Glad to find this post! I've gotten to meet quite a few doctors in the past few weeks :( Mostly good experiences though, but will have to find a GP that works for myself and hubby.

I would also recommend the people at Women's Care, the one by Hooters, though have heard good things as well about Women First at Baptist from my cardiologist.

If you should ever need a cardio, Dr. Lash Crisp at Louisville Cardiology is excellent! They have one of the most organized and efficient offices I've ever been in, the nurses are very friendly and Dr. Lash Crisp is really good with follow up.

Louisville Magazine did an article awhile back where they asked doctor's around the area which doctor they would go to in specific fields. It's quite interesting.

And I thought this was a thread about TomToms.
