Come on you guys...I think it may be in your best interests to not demonstrate any type of dissension and to state only positive comments concerning George W. Bush's visit to Kentuckiana...Need I remind you what former Presidential Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said..."Americans need to watch what they do and watch what they say"...

I see that BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) is still live and well.

It's only paranoia when it's not real.

Looks like someone's been reading Charles Krauthammer, or whichever of the conservative apologists coined the BDS.

Just to keep it food related, if you were able to toss the pie of your choice in the president's face, what type of pie would it be?

I know that jerks like Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and company have been ruthless in their personal and highly offensive attacks on the Clintons, but I don't think we should stoop to the same level to attack George W. Afterall, the Clintons are both highly intelligent people capable of defending themselves. Picking on Dubya, on the otherhand, is like making fun of retarded children. We should be above that.

as to the BDS comment:

Is it too much to suggest that it's one thing for citizens to criticize public officials (it's part of the job) and another to insult people for holding public officials up for criticism?

George Bush is directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens. Seems to me if he's man enough for that, he should be man enough to stand up to criticism. After all, he's not putting himself "in harm's way" (you have no idea how much I have come to hate that phrase, along with so many others over the years).

If thinking critically about a man who's done that and so much more, and if daring to speak those criticisms aloud equals having "bush derangement syndrome" well I'm happy to have it. He's certainly worked overtime to push us all over the edge. Frankly, I think you'd have to be crazy not to be a little deranged by now.

For anyone who wishes to join a formal protest, this information just in from the The Louisville Peace Action Community (LPAC):

Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 1:15pm, George W. Bush will "speak about the economy," at The Grand Hotel, on Market St. between Pearl & Bank Streets, in New Albany, Indiana.

Join the Protest Against Bush, 12:15 - 2:00pm
on the north side of Market St., as close to The Grand Hotel as possible.
From Louisville: take the Sherman Minton Bridge to the first New Albany exit, you'll be on Elm St.
Take Elm to the 2nd light and turn right on State St., go two blocks south to Market St., turn left.
The Grand in on the south side of Market, about 1 1/2 blocks from State St., so park wherever you can.

Bring signs and drums, bells, and whistles.

Hey Robin...It seems when other people start posts like this that are not really food related you quickly tell them to post it in the none food talk...This one just seems to go on and on....and really not about food....just a comment..
