Forum Members...This is our 8th year for this wonderful music festival. We (Shady Glen Club) do this for a fund raiser for Louisville's Edge Outreach Program. They help supply 3rd world countries with clean water. I would love to see you guys support this wonderful cause..

8th Annual RIVERFEST! Announces Tentative Line-up

Louisville, KY – The 8th annual RIVERFEST! live music festival, Saturday June 27, 2009, at Shady Glen Club in Prospect, KY is finalizing the entertainment schedule. Proceeds from this exciting day will help fund EDGE Outreach of Louisville. EDGE Outreach works with individuals and organizations offering help with a variety of water solutions, vision clinics and local humanitarian efforts in the Kentuckian area, as well as around the world. RIVERFEST! is a daylong celebration featuring a variety of music styles along the banks of the Ohio River, off Rose Island Road. With gates opening at 12:00 noon and the music lasting until midnight, there is something for everyone.

The tentative schedule is:
noon-3:15 2 guys havin' fun (recorded music and show MC's)
3:15 - 4:15 pm Trinity (Christian Rock)
4:30 - 5:30 pm The Standstill (Youth Alternative/Indie/Classic Rock Covers)
5:45 pm - 6:45 pm Big Poppa Stampley (Blues)
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm Greg Foresman Band (Power/Classic Rock)
8:15 pm - 9:15 pm Tim Kreckel (Rock)
9:30 pm - 10:30 pm Smoke and Cinders (Acoustic Rock, Blues and Country)
10:45 pm - midnight Slyk Band (Classic Rock and Blues Covers)


Tickets are $10 per person (children under 12 free) and may be purchased at EDGE Outreach Office, 1500 Arlington Ave., Louisville, KY 40206. Also Shady Glen Club members or call Jim Willis at 502-558-1033. As an added incentive, 4 advance tickets and get 1 free.

Hey Scott: Was the stage for this event ever set up in Jim and mary Pat Ellis' yard, facing the club??? I think my boyfriend's band played this event a few years ago, with Wayne Young and Johnny Doughnut, maybe??? Lots of fun! We'll probably be there too, if the weather's nice, we LOVE Greg Foresman!!! (And of course, Tim Krekel, etc)

We did set up the stage on the Willis's deck. Last year we tried a barge in the river. But, it was a lot more work and sketchy if it rained or the river "got up". So, we are going back to the deck with the bands facing the club.

Bruce's Smoke House Bar-B-Q will be there along with a few others vendors. We are hoping to double what we did for Edge last year. We are also taking Corp. donations and with those donations I would be happy to give you tickets that equal the donations for guest to attend.

Some of our bigger sponsors include but not limited to LG & E and Duke Energy. Please feel free to contact me personally if anyone needs more information (502-693-0636).

Scott there is a whole crop of regular customers and I am bringing a large part of the staff there Saturday ( been doing it for several years now ). When you get the time get with me about helping out possibly being a sponsor or maybe providing transportaion ( waterway ) for next year.

EDGE is a much needed organization and I for one need to say Thank you for helping put this on every year.
