We ended up going to Clifton's Pizza, and it was perfect for what we were looking for. We were exhausted from a beyond draining week, and just needed something low-key and fun. I haven't seen this band in probably 10+ years, and I had a ball! Kind of an old-timey jazz band rooted in bluegrass. Very fun. They had me smiling so much that my cheeks literally hurt, which was much needed therapy. We only stayed for one set, but it was enuf to bring up our moods. Also, the food was really good. My stomach is iffy right now w/stress and meds for a sinus infection, so I opted for a the house salad w/ham, and a pesto ranch dressing. It was a very generous salad for the price. A little light on the ham, but I still really enjoyed it. Hubby (is there where I'm suppose to say DH??) had a calzone w/his choice of toppings. It was huge! I tasted a few bites, and the flavors were really good. I really liked the crust, and want to try their pizza again. If we order a calzone again, I personally would opt to have the sauce as a dipping side. Seemed the sauce took up room where filling could be, and I'm a dipper anyway.
It's late, and I'm just thinking online. Bottom line, great reminder, Heather! (isn't one of those fun guys your dad? which one? they were all awesome! (guessin the new guy isn't your dad) i also loved how much fun THEY were having! please keep posting here on their gigs! they made my night!)
