Just a note to acknowledge how fortunate we are to have the talented musicians of the Louisville Orchestra and their conductor Teddy Abrams. His youth and passion have breathed new life into the organization and he is attracting a new, younger demographic.
He’s a conductor, musician, composer, pianist, clarinetist, educator, performer, and personality. We have seen him on the Whitney Hall stage conducting the orchestra while playing the harpsichord in socked feet (red socks, no less), playing electronic keyboard at a jazz concert in Cherokee Park, and this past Friday night conducting the orchestra at the Jeffersontown Community Center as part of the “Music without Borders” series. After the Jeffersontown event, Teddy and the orchestra members invited the audience to join them at 3rd Turn Brewery for a few beers. He’s scheduled to perform at the next Forecastle event.
