Award season

I have been very lax in my new movie viewing this year. Can I get some feed back re: this years Academy award nominations (or hopefuls)?

The King's Speech has been cleaning up at the other award shows.

We saw The King's Speech last week and loved it, and quite a few of our friends have been similarly impressed.

King;s Speech was very good- if a little old fashioned. I'm sure it will win.

I hated Black Swan with a passion I don't usually have for films. The writing was trite and the acting was not helped by the direction. Every character was a stock role that has been done much better by other actors. I thought the girl on girl scene made little sense and then read that it was included to lure straight guys into a movie about ballet.

I'm goig to try to see The Fighter today and will report back.

Hummmm... mark off Black Swan. I just saw The Social Network and found it very interesting.

Carla- The Fighter was wonderful. I think it is the best acting of any movie I've seen this year. I'm not a boxing fan but it didn't matter at all as the story just carries you along.

I forgot about the Social Network which I found interesting when I saw it but it hasn't stayed with me.
