A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Alan, if I didn't help put on these concerts, I would definitely be down at Captain's Quarters watching my cousin Jimmy play in his reggae band Jah Creation - happening at the same time :( I know lots of others in my family will be there, though.

One of the best reggae bands you will ever hear !!, I was fortunate several years ago to book them after they became syndicated. And just down to earth good people also :D
With everything going on with the Reggae Festival at Water Tower, Abbey Road on the River and The Willows Concert Series they bring in and keep a great crowd !

Jimmy's mom ( cannot think of her name right now :( ) is a good customer of ours, also a pleasure when she visits !

I USED to be cool...but alas that's another story. Still the question begs to be asked...exactly what IS "Nightcrawler rock", "Krekkie Rock" and "Jumpbilly Boogie Blues". Sounds (to these tired old ears) like another example of....well hell, never mind, just let it rock.

It´s the next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways,
It´s still rock and roll to me.
Everybody’s talkin' 'bout the new sound,
Funny, but, it´s still rock and roll to me.

It's another example of my dad (who puts these concerts together on behalf of the Cherokee Triangle Association) being cheesy in some cases in his way of describing the bands. And in some cases, it's how the bands ask to be listed.

Will Cary's band used to be called The Nightcrawlers.

Fans of the late, super-great Tim Krekel are called Krekkies. So, to the initiated, Krekkie rock makes sense as a cute joke and tribute to Tim, and to the uninitiated, you can learn that the music is rock.

Jumpbilly Boogie Blues is, I believe, how King Sonic once requested to be listed, and so it's just stuck with them.
