Looking for Oaks eve and Derby eve dining

by Leah S » Fri Apr 02, 2010 12:11 pm

Guest just made a reservation with us, and truly doesn't understand about needing to have made dining reservations two months ago. And I quote, "We're only going to be in Louisville Thursday, Friday and Saturday."

My response, "Yes, you and 50,000 other people."

I've pointed him to Open Table which shows Seviche and Cafe LouLou as options for Thursday.

Who's got opens for Friday and Saturday?

stop laughing and thank you

Park Place will be open thursday, friday, saturday (derby day) w/ limited menu. We have openings on thursday and saturday night, Oaks, we could put another 2 or 4 people on the books. Would love to treat your guests to an unhurried great meal.

Justin, that looks like the list from Open Table. I've already got that.

Paula, do you have a website? A quick search didn't result is anything within the first 15 or so sites that were returned.

In my experience Derby Eve (Friday Night) is the busiest of those three days. Derby Night there are usually a lot of no-shows.
If you can find somewhere for them on Friday night that will be the toughest to find.
I know it sounds funny, but have you tried calling the concierge desk at the Brown or Seelbach?
Under the guise of a visitor, they can be very helpful

Equus/Jack's Lounge still has a few Derby slots open.
We are on a wait list for Oaks.

Equus doesn't show anything available on Open Table. But I'll let my guest know there's a possibility. Thanks!

I believe L&N Wine Bar & Bistro still has spots open for both days. Obviously, it'll be easier getting tables, especially later in the evening, on Derby.

Leah, restaurants often block really busy nights so that they can have more control over the reservation system. I checked tonight and we do still have a couple slots open if you call.

Dear Leah,
our website is www.browningsbrewery.com Though this post just reminded me that anyone searching for park place info probably won't find it. I think we posted the menu on the Brownings Brewery facebook page a while back---. When I go to restaurant today, i will post it here, if Robin is ok w/ that. Thanks! And I apologize for not having the info so readily available.
