Romantic atmosphere

by Ross L » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:19 pm

Hi everyone,

I am planning to take my girlfriend out to celebrate our anniversary. I'm not too familiar with Louisville's dining but I was hoping for some suggestions for a romantic place to eat. It would be great if it had Italian food, but really anywhere that's vegetarian-friendly would be good. I don't want to say that price is no object, but I'm certainly willing to splurge. Also we can't get wine (not old enough), so that makes the money thing a little easier.

Thanks!

For romance you can't beat LeRelais, IMO.

Ross, with Italian as a criterion, I'd suggest Volare or Primo at the high end, Melillo's if you want to be a little more casual and have a more affordable (but delicious) meal in a friendly atmosphere.

Le Relais is very romantic. It is french and probably not too vegetarian friendly.

Primo downtown is very nice, upscale, italian. I think most females would be impressed

Well it's a little noisy at times but I like Hooters around girlfriend anniversary
time. Every woman in the place will come by your table and visit,

This is the one in Indiana by the river Jeff. I think.

It's been a while since I ate there last but Porchinis on Frankfort Ave is very good. Not too pricy.

I don't remember Le Relais being not too vegetarian friendly. I note that Leah consistently recommends it, and I believe that she is a vegetarian. I bet Chef Stage would accomodate a vegetarian quite well.

Ron, this was just based on the menu when I went about a month ago. Here is the menu. They do have a few veggie choices.

I do eat fish, so that gives me additional options. And even if there's only one vegetarian chice, if it well prepared, and not pasta and veg, then I'm happy anyway. Less decisions to make. Don't get me wrong I lvoe pasta, but I can do that at home.

Equus has a nice, classy romantic feel to it.
