surprisingly good pizza

by John Hagan » Thu Apr 01, 2010 7:51 am

My pizza loyalty has been Shawn Vest at CPC for a few years now. I also have found a new thing with Papalinos in town. I have never tried Papa John before but last night I gave them a chance. OMG!, and to think I have never had this pie before. From start to finish this was perhaps the best pizza I have ever had. When I first took a bite of the delicious crust I was immediately transported back to my Italian grandmothers house in the hills of Italy. That crust was as good, if not better than anything that came out of her backyard, wood fired bread oven. The tomatoes sauce that complimented this wonderful crust must be described as heavenly. The only time I can think of having a fresher tomato taste would be to stand in my garden in July and eat them right off the plant. While the expansive topping included many intriguing options,Anne and I went the purist route with just a plain cheese. To call it a "plain" cheese does not do this dairy product justice. As the sweet ribbons of mozzarella hung languidly off my slice, it led me to wonder if these folks treated their cows in a similar fashion as the Kobe cattle in Japan. You can taste the sweetness of the spring grass these cows are eating. Magnificent!! Well, Im a believer now. Dinner for two with drinks and huge tip was remarkably affordable.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

On the same note of surprise, last night's dinner at the Golden Arches was spectacular as well :D

Nice work John

I remember Marsha's announcement exactly one year ago today that she had won a full ride scholarship to the Olive Garden Cooking Institute.

LMAO!! A friend of mine texted me on Tuesday night during a commercial break from our beloved LOST, saying "There is not an Olive Garden school in Tuscany lol!"
