Napa River adds Latin, Asian touches on new menu

by Robin Garr » Mon Mar 29, 2010 3:12 pm

Napa River Grill's new dinner menu adds Latin and Asian flavors to its familiar California-style cuisine.

The new menu combines Napa River Grill’s signature dishes the Ménage á Trois, Beef Tenderloin, and the Napa Caesar Salad with new items featuring Latin, Asian and Mediterranean flavors.

New starters include: Asian Ahi Nachos, $13.95; Kona Bistro Tender, $11.95; Trifecta with crab cake, nine ounce lobster tail and shrimp scampi, $42.95; Roasted Garlic Hummus and Tabbouleh, $8.95; and the Berries and Brie Salad, $7.95. Entrées making their debut include Shadow Creek Pork, $18.95; Crystal Springs Pomodoro, $24.95; Farmer’s Market Veal Scaloppini, $25.95; Ahi Chimichurri, $26.95; Yosemite Salmon, $19.95; Copper Ridge Chicken, $18.95; and Pan Seared Sea Bass, $25.95. New featured wines will start at $5.75 a glass and $19.95 a bottle.

“We haven’t significantly changed our dinner menu in a couple of years, and we thought it was time to freshen and liven up the menu just in time for spring,” owner J.D. Rothberg said in a news release. “At the same time, our goal was to create new dishes that are a great value to guests, offering fresh takes on seasonal ingredients at an affordable price.”

Napa River Grill is located in Westport Village at 1211 Herr Lane and is open for lunch Monday-Friday and dinner daily. Happy hour is 4:30-7 p.m. daily in the lounge area only. For more information or reservations, call 423-5822 or click www.napariverlouisville.com

Menu writing meets public relations, I'm afraid. Still, Napa is a treasure.

It's strange - "Yosemite Salmon" was the thing that jumped out at me from the whole release; I thought Ooh, that's a clever name for a dish! I love giving things goofy names.
