Date near Hurstbourne and Shebyville?

by Eliza W » Thu Mar 25, 2010 9:48 am

We're trying a new sitter in this area. I'm thinking Z's, a place we've never tried. Any other suggestions? It doesn't have to be fancy, just good. Any place our kids are not is going to be relaxing.

In that area you have Furlongs, Senor Iguanas, and Limestone just around the corner. There is also a Jason's deli..though I'm sure that's a bit too relaxed. (And dare I say that Pf Changs is right there too..but uh..I'm sure that's not what you're looking for.)

Bristol is right there.

Jack/Equus, Havana Rumba, Cafe Lou Lou, and Del Frisco's are not far away (5 minute drive).

Sesame Chinese Restaurant is in the Walgreens shopping center - I've always liked it. Corner of Shelbyville Rd/ Hurstborne Ln .

There's a group of chains on Hurstbone Lane right before Shelbville including Macaroni Grill; Bone Fish; Carrabbas and one other.. I think.

Then , there is the Bristol.

PF Changs I like too.

Sure. If there are no cars on the road and you hit all green lights.

Cocos Lokos is right down the road, my sister and her fiance had a romantic dinner there on Sunday.

Eliza, I'd like to throw our hat in the mix. If you've never tried us we are very close to your location.
10609 Lagrange Rd. just off Hurstbourne. Phone 245-9004 We do take reservations. Enjoy your evening away from the kids wherever you choose.

Ok, it is a 10 minute drive with traffic, still not far away.

Z's is good, but if you let Limestone know it's a special night you won't be disappointed!

Second that. Always my first choice in this neighborhood (my office is across the street - convenient for lunch!).

Selena's is probably the best blend of atmosphere and food for a reasonable price of any of those suggested. They're located on Lagrange road about 1/2 mile east of Hurstbourne so it's quite close. Z's is good but way overpriced IMHO and while some of the others are quite nice I think Selena's will be a bunch better atmosphere for a "date".

I've got an idea! Let's offer people the HotBytes review rather than sending them to the Gannett publication!

Also there is Simply Spendid Salads right there at Hurstbourne and Shelbyville Rd. I like their salads and crepes. I need to get me another Tuna Nicoise salad. Yum! It would be a more casual date. It is right next to Shiraz.
