Kid-Friendly Eats?

by Chris Lindy » Sat Mar 20, 2010 4:03 pm

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions for our weekend get-away. We ended up going over to Belterra a day early and had a really nice dinner at Jeff Ruby's before winning back the bill at the blackjack table. I'll take a free steak meal 7 days a week!

At any rate, I'm now trying to come up with something new to take the babysitter (aka mom) for dinner tonight. We're on the east end, near The Summit, and bistros, Italian, and sandwich places have all been given the green light. The one caveat is they have to be amenable to a 10-month-old tagging along with Cheerios and whatever mess she decides to make.

So what does the forum have for me? Places we've take mom to include Cafe Lou Lou, Captain's Quarters, Arbor Ridge Vine & Grill...

Chris,
We would love to have you out at Westport General Store. I love to see the little ones. It gives me my baby fix without having to change all the diapers and having to get up three times a night.

Even all you have been there before I would definitely recommend Cafe Lou Lou, it's not that far, very kid friendly and has wonderful food. You may also want to consider BoomBazz tap room in Westport Village. It has great food and a nice atmosphere and really unless you sit in the bar I would consider it kid friendly. Of course you can always consider Red Robin, they do make very good burgers and if it's fancy enough for what you're looking for very kid friendly. Obviously there are many many options but those would be at the top of the list for me.

Chris,
We are very close to you, but to me the drive is secondary to the wait with small child. Here are my thoughts with small child:
Tony boombozz Westport + Comfy Cow
Cafe loulou
Mojitos
CQ
caffe Classico

Personally, I wouldn't take a small child to Red robin- it's too loud.

Would she like Napa? It seems weird, but they've always been very receptive when we walk in with our daughter. (She's almost 4 now and we've been dining out with her since she was born)

You didn't mention Japanese as an option, but there's tons of choices out that direction.

Also, my daughter has practically grown up on Shiraz:)
