Anyone doing Guinness Stout cupcakes or gelato today?

by Melissa Richards-Person » Wed Mar 17, 2010 1:39 pm

I've been salivating at some of the posts on Facebook today about places doing Guinness gelato, stout cupcakes and the like. Wondered if you all knew of anything here?

Last Friday, at the March "Lunch Lessons" at Limestone Restaurant, Jim highlighted a Guinness Banana Mousse for dessert. I'm not big on sweets so I liked the Irish Potato Griddle Cakes and the Irish Seafood Stew better, but that is not to say I did not clean my plate! I can PM you the recipe if you would like.

Not quite gelato or a cupcake, but I believe the Irish Rover offers a flourless chocolate cake made with Guinness. The recipe used to be available on the Louisville Originals site. I once made it substituting the Guiness with BBC Heine Bros Coffee Stout and it was EXCELLENT.

Gayle - not a big banana fan, so I'll pass, but thanks for the thought!
