Homemade Pie Kitchen service

by Ellen P » Sat Mar 13, 2010 9:58 pm

I'm all about service. If the food and drink are great, it doesn't matter if I can't get waited on.
Last night at Springhurst, one young man was working by himself and did an incredible job. All of us in line, and we were almost out the door, patiently waited and appreciated the circumstances - one person working. It was about 8:30 and Chris was just amazing. We all waited patiently because we saw that he was doing an exceptional job and he would get to us as he completed each order. I wish I had lots of moneys to give to a young person like that. I gave him $5 - not the tip jar to share - and told him that he should go far in life. It was a WOW to see such a wonderful young person do his job. And to the customers too, who recognized that by himself he was doing a great job. It was very special.
I do question why one young person was put in that situation but it was very special.
(Love the upside down cupcakes.)

Most likely his co-worker was a no-show...

They were probably extra busy due to today being Pi Day.

I hope you write a nice letter to the store! Our company (we have 65ish clinics across the US) has been posting nice letters on our Intranet lately that we've been getting. I have to say, eventhough it's not at my clinic, they're nice to see! I know I'm the first to write when something is bad, but need to be reminded to write when all goes well! Thanks for the great post on the Pie Kitchen. I DO love their pies!
