I stopped by for a carry out on my way home from work yesterday not realizing that it was their first day open to the general public. First impression, Five Guys Burger and Fries with more than a few menu tweaks. Whereas Five Guys has their strict burger, hot dogs, and fries concept Stevie B's has added Philly Cheesesteaks, Chicken Cheesesteaks, chili dogs, frickled pickles, salads, and onion rings. The fries while still hand cut-style differed from Five Guys in the thickness of the cut...think Steak and Shake meets Five Guys or Penn Station. I'm no fan of Steak and Shake fries but Stevie B's were tasty.
The burger was good. They offer 1/3 lb. and 1/2 lb. with your choice of cheeses. You can add grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bacon and something else which currently escapes me at an additional cost. After receiving your order you have the option of adding toppings from their toppings bar which is not an extensive as WW Cousin's but was adequate in my opinion.
My one complaint was with their onion rings. I really wanted to order those in lieu of their fries but they want $4.55 per order of onion rings which is more expensive than the burgers, hot dogs, and nearly as much as their cheesesteaks. My thinking was that they must have been served as a huge portion but as I waited for my order I saw what looked to be about one onion's worth of onion rings served in a mostly empty basket. It's a shame because they looked appetizing.
Overall I liked the place and will return, just not for onion rings.
