So sorry to see them go. The city needs to get the bridge open. It is silly that it has been closed that long. It has to have an impact on all those places out there.

AMEN! Be they large or small, this city seems to have a problem getting bridges painted, repaired, and/or built.

Unfortunately, we haven't felt that the food with anywhere near as good as it used to be before the change in ownership. Also the new building doesn't have the same feel as the old one. These items combined with the economy, bridge closing and higher rent certainly sealed their fate.

So sorry to hear it. Independent restaurants can't survive without sales. I guess it's just that simple. We are at the mercy of the people that allow us to exist. We'll probably see more of this before things get better. All we can do is hope and pray that we can survive until things turn around. At this point profit is not even the isssue. It's just trying to break even at best or not lose too much.

Blame River Fields for the repeated attempts to file injunctions against the project; delaying the project and possibly leading to the downfall of Chick Inn.

As for the food not being as good, big deal.Look.I don't mean to make this personal. But, every time a place goes out of business someone comes on and say " Sorry , but they've always had this problem or their food was never as good as it was since 1952 " . Are you trying to make yourself feel better by knocking a place when its down? It's irritating when people feel the need to do it.

Sorry to see another place close.

I don't know how many people clicked on the link, but the linked story's lead has to be one of the worst leads I have ever read (and I was an editor for a college newspaper, so I've seen some craptacular ones). Doug really wanted to say a lot, and he wanted to say it all in one sentence. Epic fail.

I wasn't trying to knock a place when it was down, but blaming the bridge is a little crazy to me. There are other places in the same area that are still open. If the food was better I would have been giving them more business. Just saying.

Bingo!

Yeah, I've kind of held off re-reviewing them, a mercy gesture as much as anything. Sad, but it just hasn't been the same, and bridge or no bridge, I feared this was a matter of time.

That said, the city DOES need to shape up. I've been a fan of Mayor Jerry for a long time, but I just don't think merger has been good for him.

In my opinion, regardless of the quality of their food , the closing of the bridge did contribute to its downfall. However, I do not solely blame the bridge.

Food quality obviously matters but- Do not underestimate the damage that closed bridge is causing. I am a member of the Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce and I will tell you that businesses on both sides of that bridge are suffering. I drive that road at least three times a week and I can see the difference. Maybe Alan H. from CQ will chime in on what is going on down there. One lane, two lanes, whatever, they need to get that thing open.
