Mini Rave - Seviche

by SheilaB » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:50 pm

There is plenty of delicious food out there in Louisville and beyond, but every once in a while I eat something SO incredibly delicious that I have to publicly rave. So, without further ado, forgive me as I gush about the Lemon Truffle Langoustine Bisque with Grilled Prawn I had at Seviche this past Sunday. It was out of this world delicious, had a tremendous depth of flavor - a perfect mix of citrus, truffle, and the ocean (and was that Pimenton sprinkled on top of the bisque?) Yum yum yum! All at the table were in agreement that it was fantastic. The only downside is that it was a special, not on the regular menu.

However, if Anthony (or someone else over at Seviche) wants to shoot me an IM should it appear again I'd be there in a flash. :)

Sounds like Anthony has more great recipes than he knows what to do with! I want the lobster chaufa again. There were some stewed short ribs on special recently, too.

To this day I miss the Sugar Cane Tuna that was on their menu for a while several years ago.

Best tuna dish I have ever had, hands down. I was sad to see it go.

Glad you all enjoyed! We run the tuna quite often, Just sometimes without the sugarcane skewer. It's grilled Ahi tuna with coconut-red chile glaze, toasted macadamia rice. Also, we do dishes for peolpe all the time requesting past dishes. It's not a problem at all. Just give us a day notice and I'll be happy to do the lobster chaufa. I'm really fortunate because my kitchen has been with me anywhere from 5 to 10 years, so they create dishes with my stlye and influence. Sous Chef Adam Burrice made the Bisque that nite, so I'll share this with him. We really appreciate your support of Seviche and are glad you enjoy our flavors.

As always muchas gracias y buen provecho!

Robert and I just made it home from our first trip to Seviche (FINALLY) and it was AWESOME! He had the churrascos and absolutely loved it. I tasted a bite of it and I'm not a big steak-eater so I usually taste steak expecting to be underwhelmed but this was actually the first steak that I found to be absolutely delicious. Best steak I've ever tasted! I never order steak but I could order that dish and be thrilled with it. I had the bass and crab cigar and it was spectacular! The fish was cooked perfectly, the cigar was fun and yummy, the rice was superb. Everything on the plate was excellent - there's no "filler" or anything that can't shine on its own. Also, the service was lovely. We have never been so happy to splurge on a good meal. Thanks to all!
