Great Googley Moogley - What a Burger!

by Pete O » Thu Feb 18, 2010 2:59 pm

A coworker and I walked over to the new Patrick O'Shea's for lunch.

First off, the place is beautiful. When we got there, they told us there was a 15 minute wait. The wait was not because they were working out first week kinks. It was because they were full. Downtown has been starving for this type of establishment. The actual wait was closer to 10 minutes until we settled into the booth.

After browsing the menu, I opted for the Kentucky Pork burger. The burger was fresh ground pork with chopped bacon incorporated prior to being placed on the flat top and grilled superbly. It was topped with a honey mustard glaze and melted goat cheese. I gotta tell ya - it was delicious. I opted for the Pommes Frittes as a side and they were delicious as well.

To top it off, if you walked in as a tourist you would never now that they just opened. They hit the ground running and the service was perfect. It is not often that a server asks you if you are in a hurry because of lunch hour constraints.

I am a fan of the food at the Baxter Ave. O'Sheas but the downtown version is better. Give it a try when you get a chance.

P.S. The also have a coffee and tea bar that opens at 7am for us downtown caffeine junkies. Looking forward to trying that in the next couple days.

I love me some Porkburgers!
When the grilling season comes back, some of my favorite things are the porkburgers from Stone Cross Farms. Available at a farmer's market near you.
I like to grill em with some Rendevous Seasoning. Delish!

I've never had a pork burger... which is surprising when I think about it. Now I have to go to O'Shea's and see what the fuss is about.

Dan, I was in there again tonight to hoist a couple beers after work. I was perusing the menu and found that the pork burgers are from Stone Cross Farms.
