Sort-of on topic - local company doing engraved julep cups?

by Melissa Richards-Person » Mon Feb 15, 2010 6:53 pm

Thought that I would throw this out to forumites and see if anyone had ideas...
I'm looking to send thank you gifts to 4 people who did an enormous amount of work for me in the past couple weeks, and wanted to do something that A) was personal and B) Said "Kentucky" - so I thought about engraved silver julep cups. Problem is, I'd prefer to stay local, and all the things I've found thus far are big national sites. I went to Louisville Stoneware's website, but they don't seem to offer an option to personalize their julep cups, and on top of that, all of them say "Available in 4-6 weeks," which is way too late.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I think the Gastineaus in Berea may do engraved pewter and/or silver cups. Not sure if they do custom work or not, or if they are technically julep cups:

You beat me to it! I also believe some of the trophy shops have them and will engrave them.

We got some beautifully engraved julep cups from Wakefield Scearce as a wedding gift. They are absolutely gorgeous.

They are located in Shelbyville, and their website is actually http://www.julepcups.com.

Here is the direct link to their julep cups page:

A Taste of Kentucky .. mall St Matthews .. has julep cups in pewter and silver that can be engraved.

I would think that Louisville Stoneware or Hadley would have them and can personalize. Special order Probably a lot less expensive. However if they are not silver or pewter they don't seem authentic.

You beat me to THIS! I sent 2 out to my brother and sister-in-law in CA. They were so happy with them they ordered a bunch wholesale to sell in their antique store.

There is a place over here behind Party Mart in the Brownsboro shopping center.
I have received a couple as gifts, and they do a great job.

I am just having issues remembering their name. Begins with a 'B'
