I had an incident with a restaurant on Sunday that could easily been avoided with some employee training. A friend and I were at a performance at UofL and I knew we would be dining late on Sun nite-10ish- and that my choices would be limited. I was hoping for a Crescent Hill/St Matthews venue as that would be closer to home for both my friend and myself. The only place that came to mind was North End and I called them in the afternnon to make sure they would be open and serving that late. I was told that they served until 11 and that we would have plenty of time to dine.
Well, guess what? When we pulled up at 10 they were closed and I was told that they always close at 10 on Sunday. The server I spoke with was very apologetic and suggested Ramsi's, which is where we ended up.
It would have been so much easier and SO much less frustrating for us to have hit the Highlands without a side trip to C.H., not to mention the waste of time and gas.
I emailed the management about the incident when I got home thinking an apology from them would be in order, but since I am still waiting 4 days later I decided to post here.
Although I was livid at the time, all I was looking for was acknowledgement since I know that human error is a fact of life.
Without that acknowledgement I am still carrying a grudge.
There is a lesson in there somewhere.
