Red Pepper favorites?

by Adam Smith » Sat Feb 13, 2010 3:59 pm

If you can, gimme some dish suggestions for Red Pepper. Going again tonight and I'm slowly working my way through the menu...

Dan Dan Noodles. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing else on the menu.

OK, not literally.

Adam, there's another very recent thread on this, if you'll search Red Pepper - or I'll try to find it and post the link.

Meanwhile, the oddly named "Unique Chicken Smell" is a favorite ... it's an appetizer. I love pan-fried tofu and ma po tofu. Cumin Lamb, a West China dish, is another I really like, but you do have to love cumin. And lamb.

Do go to the authentic Chinese menu (which is available in English) ... that's where Red Pepper really shows its stuff. The Chinese-American menu is good, but the authentic stuff is really what makes this restaurant stand out as the city's best Chinese by my rating.

Thanks Robin. I get the unique chicken smell every time and I always order off the chinese menu, thanks!

So far I'm going to try the dan dan noodles, there are 3 of us going so hopefully they'll share and I can try lots of things.

I feel the same way about the dan dan noodles!

Pan-fried tofu is wonderful - lots of people I know love it.

I also like the eggplant dish - eggplant with garlic sauce, I think is the one.

THANK YOU, they were delicious, so much so I got an order to go to eat later.

I also had unique chcken smell and shrip with spicy sauce and everything was wonderful. My friends had beef w/garlic sauce and three pepper chicken and it was ALL good. The beef dish was especially tasty. They had never been to Red Pepper and LOVED it.

Next time I'm getting the pan fried tofu!
