Where did you eat for Valentines Day ?

by Steve P » Sat Feb 13, 2010 2:32 pm

So where did you eat for Valentines Day ?

In an effort to avoid the crush, I took my lovely bride out on Friday and we had a WONDERFUL dinner at Westport General Store. The Bison Ribeye Steak and Chicken Saltimbocca were top shelf and the private Bourbon tasting with Chef (!) Will Crawford was an added bonus. We've enjoyed Westport General on three or four occasions now and have never been remotely disappointed. The food, service and ambiance has always been outstanding. Nice job Will...Thanks.

But we're definitely going to Varanese for our Anniversary in another month-ish! Those pics are mouthwatering!

We did Coco Lokos. Very good. Very good indeed. We were there for lunch and opted to order a bunch of apps so we could try different stuff. Lobster bites, mushroom and spinach empanatas, wings and some rice. All quite tasty. Then a coconut flan and some plantains for dessert.

May sound low-key, but we went to Mexico Veijo last night and chowed down on some of our favorites and had a great time. Best of all, she was the one who picked where we went, so there was no pressure on this old boy to choose the "perfect spot." :D

We're headed to Baxter Station this evening. I may try Mark's pasta special. Whatever I have, I'll be sure to leave room for dessert! :P

We were at Baxter Station with friends the other night. Every time I go there I realize again what a truly great spot it is for casual dining. A neighborhood joint for the whole city!

We had a wonderful evening at Seviche last night. We used one of our Restaurant.com gift certificates and enjoyed Ostiones al la Lamas, the special Salmon and pineapple seviche, striped bass with crab cigar (yum), the steak poblano, and the tres leches cake. Wonderful meal, great service. I wish nothing but continued success for Anthony and crew.

I dined at Seviche on a last minute rez hook up from Madi the rockstar and had the yellowtail tiradito, atun de chefe, and NABC porter followed by the tenth anniversary and final CD launch party for the Louisville is for lovers compilation where I got to see all the awesome bands perform on two different stages on both levels at the new and hip vernon club. I win.

We had a wonderful early lunch at Queen of Sheba. They are now serving breakfast on sundays, and are open from 9:30 until 2:30 on sundays.

Great way to spend Valentine's Day, relaxed w/ great food that someone else cooked. :D

We had a great brunch this morning at 211 Clover. I had Trout and my wife had the French Toast made with bread from Blue Dog bakery. Of course I could make a meal out of about five orders of their Scones.

Excellent as usual!
