New forum Web address URL may solve nanny filter problem

by Robin Garr » Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:07 pm

After communing with both the HotBytes server hosts at Iglou.com and our forum server operator in Florida, we think we've finally come up with a way to give the forums a HotBytes address. This is not only more tidy, but it MAY solve the problem for some of you who work for companies so controlling that they block sites with words like "wine" and "lovers" in them. :P

So, while the old address will continue to work, we intend to change all public links and begin using as the default address:
http://forums.louisvillehotbytes.com

Please check it out, and assuming you don't find any issues, bookmark it as your regular entry to the forum.

Also, those who've had problems accessing the WineLoversPage.com address, please let me know if this workaround works for you.

For some reason since this new address took effect, the site won't keep me logged in. I check the box everytime I log in. Any ideas?

Same problem, and I have clicked the little box that says"log me in every time".
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

I agree, folks. It's happening to me, too, and yes, it is frustrating, although in the overall scheme of things it's not up there with world hunger or suffering in Haiti, ya know? :?

The techs are working on it, and I think it may just be a matter of some forum settings that can be done pretty easily in the morning. Cross fingers, be patient, and wait. We'll clear this up.

My logging in problem is fixed.

Yeah, I posted in the other thread. we just had to re-bake a cookie. :)

Sorry for the inconvenience, folks, but I really like having the forum URL back on Hotbytes again, and I THINK this may pay dividends for the folks whose Puritanical employers blocked WineLovers because of the name. :P

Definitely a good idea! I'll be sure to update links at Louisville History & Issues.
