On a recent episode of No Reservations there was a scene where they we eating a pizza like dish called Lahmajoon. Does anyone know anywhere local that would make it? It looked pretty tasty and I have been wanting to give it a try since the episode!

Not sure I ever heard of the dish Jeremy...but for some reason I have this vague recollection that I might have smoked some back in the 70's. :P

It's Armenian, I believe, Jeremy, sort of a pizza-like openface flatbread lamb sandwich. We don't have an Armenian restaurant around here. However, I wonder if there might be a similar Iranian dish, in which case, someone like Saffron's or Caspian Grill might be able to come up with something similar. It might be worth asking.

I don't know of a local place to get them. Now if you are ever in NYC - I can definitely point you in the right direction! lol....

My mother-in-law is Armenian and makes these. They are my husband's favorite and when she comes to visit, her suitcase is full of frozen homemade treats for him. Hers are ground lamb, some tomato paste, oregano, and LOTS of fresh chopped parsley. It is baked on top of pita breads.

I found a few recipes online so I guess I will need to make them on my own! If anyone is interested here is a link to a recipe.
