Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
I was told last night that Harrah's is making a change to their restaurant lineup ... the Villa buffet is being taken out to put in a new Paula Deen restaurant. Anybody else heard this?
I ate at the Lady & Sons in GA about 4 years ago. That fried chicken was outrageously good (IMO).
You’ve had her over to your place on several occasions through Food Network. Now she’d like to return the favor! Paula Deen warmly invites you to the Paula Deen Buffet, exclusive to Harrah’s Tunica. This 560-seat, cutting-edge restaurant is modeled after Paula’s own home. You’ll savor the Queen of Southern Cuisine’s down-home recipes in this unique upscale buffet.

Our experience and her restaurant in Savannah was less than stellar. The food was OK but overpriced for what it was and it was more of a tourist attraction than a good place to eat. Hopefully, the buffets are a better experience.
What I've read about her buffet in Tunica is that the spicing is "dumned down" to attract the lowest common denominator . . . mac and cheese pretty tasteless, cream gravy lacking spice and just bland, that sort of thing. Prices were decent. I was going to check it out anyways, but trip got changed.
We ate at her place in Savannah a few years ago. Sure, it's a tourist destination, with lines out the door. I honestly don't recall the prices. But.........best fried chicken EVER.
Never been to any of her places, but think everyone here should come over for the buffet, gamble a little and then go home....we need the revenue over here in Harrison County. 'Winger
yea i work at the villa, we start the Paula dean renovation on may 10th, im looking forward to seeing how this all works out. They really havent given us anything about whats going to be happening.
