Best Cod in town.....that's right The Fishery....

by Rob_DeLessio » Tue Feb 02, 2010 12:54 am

...is expanding to Middletown. Opening a new location on the corner of Old Harrods Creek Road and Shelbyville. Those have tried in the past, and now it's time to let the Far Easterners get their fix the right way, everytime... I can't tell you how excited I am.

In Middletown about a block east of Mark's Feed Store. Google Maps is your friend. :-) Actually, I wonder if this is going in to the old Pig City.

There is a Roppels Radiator on the corner (which started out as a Judy's restaurant, a bad Wendy's look alike clone right down to a picture of "Judy" in the middle of the cup).

That is a funky little corner. There is a tiny strip mall that started out as a liquor store and then became a music store then a tax preparer?

It is a horrible intersection unless you are turning right to go westbound towards St. Matt's.

It's in a spot that Henderson Piano occupied, they are going to work on the entrances to the parking lot, to make it as easy as possible to get in and get out. Shouldn't be much of an issue. Maybe a little during rush hour, but certainly not lunch.

They had a place out there years ago and it didn't stay open all that long, is this a better time and situation?

BTW, I love The Fishery and always have...my favorite fried fish sandwich by far.

Don't shortchange Mody Dick's. It may not be the best, but it is better than most. Great onion rings too! Then, of course, you have all of the local fish fry's during Lent. Then there is Suburban Lodge.....can't forget about them :D :D

Oh, forgot about O'Bryan's Tavern off Dixie Hwy. You better bring cash, that is all they take.......

My favorites have always been Stan's and the Suburban Lodge in the South End.

Home Run Burgers has a killer Cod Fish Sandwich, if I may say so. You be the judge, as always.

Does everyone mean "The best you've had so far or the best in the Louisville area period".

The only one that I would even consider close on the chain side would be Captain D's....LJS is sucky, and I've never had good luck at Moby Dick's. But that is just my humble opinion.

Steve I was waiting for you to chime in on this one, hell I do not know what kept me so long ?

Far Easteners ?.. Get their fix ?.. The right way ?..

Yes I agree the Fishery has a good sandwich, but I do have to disagree with those have tried in the past theory.
You might have to ask the" Far Southeners " what they think about Mike Linnig's while you are at it.
Or ask the not quite" Far Easteners " but kinda East of the city on the Ohio River what they think about our Cod Sandwich ( perfected breaded to order )

Done, small rant is over
