Boomburger will honorTurkey Joe's Gift Certificates

by Tony P. » Mon Feb 01, 2010 2:58 pm

Boomburger will honor Turkey Joe's gift certificates for 3 months from the day we open (which is scheduled for April 15th). We will also be adding a Signature line of Wings to our menu.

Best,

Tony

I have to ask, did you buy out or partner with Turkey Joe's?

Tony,

What a great gesture!
If you want to send me a PM with the details, I'll forward it to my Springhurst email list. Turkey's Joes was a favorite for some, so I'm sure they'vd appreciate your offer ( and I can let them know BoomBurgers is coming).

I'd like to thank Tony for the very nice gesture on his part. It's nice to see him extending goodwill to patrons of another restaurant that went out of business through no fault of his.

I guess I have to ask what ever made you think up a question like that, Justin? I'm all in favor of skeptical reporting, but I think Mark R pretty much hit the nail on the head here.

I sincerely doubt he was implying any wrong doing; merely wanting to find out the reason behind Turkey Joe's sudden closure.

Yeah, I'd like to know that, too.

Sadly, abrupt closings are the rule, not the exception, because restaurateurs facing closing face a two-horned dilemma: Do the ethical thing and give your employees notice? Or wait until the last day to tell them so the unethical among the employees can bolt for the doors and leave the restaurateur with no staff for the last two weeks he had planned to stay in business?

And with no customers 'cause few people want to dine some place they hear is having problems....

Well, Turkey Joes is/was a wings and burger place and Boomburger is going to be a wings and burger place. Just seemed like a logical question to me. I thought Turkey Joes's might have been in trouble and worked something out with Boombozz. As Kyle said, I was not implying wrong doing, as there is nothing wrong with partnering with or buying another business. Sorry if I offended anyone. I'll be at both Boomburgers and the new Taphouse opening week.
